Swedish lunch time clubbing!

Do you think your lunch breaks are boring? I did. That is until I read about Stockholm Lunch Beat...

The Stockholm Lunch Beat is an amazing concept where Stockholmers can go dancing during their lunch break. From 12 pm to 1 pm 600 people come every day to the venue, Kulturhuset, simply just to dance.  And it's an alcohol-free event so anyone can join in. Students, people in their late 50's, even parents on maternity leave (with their babies wearing hearing protection) come to join the one hour lunch party. After 1 p.m. everyone goes back to work.

The Lunch Beat also has a manifesto:

• If it's your first time at Lunch Beat, you have to dance.
• If it´s your second, third, or fourth time at Lunch Beat, you have to dance.
• At Lunch Beat everyone is your dance partner.
• You don't talk about your work at Lunch Beat.

The Lunch Beat concept is a nonprofit franchice so anyone can start their own local lunch break party. I would love to try this during a lunch break! Would you?
