Paris Je T'aime

Do you have a movie cruch? Mine is Paris. I'm probably even more in love with Paris in the movies than in real life. It just seems like such a magical place where anything can happen. My favourite movies set in Paris certainly have a magical feel to them, and they always make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. So let's just buy a pretty dress and a beret and start watching.

The Triplets of Belleville
An incredible cartoon with no dialogue whatsoever, but this only adds to its charm. The plot is wonderfully odd and the music, characters, and colours are just brilliant.

Paris Je T'aime
A collection of short films with a story for (almost) every arrondisment. It's a great introduction to a lot of directors. My absolute favourite is Alexander Payne's '14e Arrondisment'. To me it's a perfect balance of happy, sad, and poetic.

Paris in Midnight
Being a big fan of 'Vicky Christina Barcelona' I knew I had to watch this as soon as it came out - a lot. I still love it. It's funny and magical, and makes you want to stop whatever you're doing, fly to Paris, and start writing a book. (Let's just do it!)

Honourable mention

(This one doesn't need any introduction, so I won't even bother...)
